Because the Chantal Meteor 200 keeps the amplifier heaters powered up when in standby mode I have added a 'Timed-Off' relay to the amp supply circuit. This is set to turn off all power to the amp two hours after the last record selection. As the two bulbs for the record select Letter and Number are powered from the amp, I have added a seperate transformer to power these.

The wiring was very simple with no permanent changes made to the Chantal. I will post a wiring diagramme and detailed instructions later.
The result is great. The Juke can be turned on all day and the amp will only switch on if a record is selected. It will then turn off two hours after the last selection. This means the Juke stays nice and cool, uses very little power and the Amplifier tubes should last much longer.
