Day One,
This blog is going to detail the restoration of a Chantal Meteor 200 Jukebox.
It was manufactured by Chantal Ltd, a division of Frenchay Products in Bristol between 1959 and 1961.
This Chantal has a serial number of 2281.
The body is stamped and variously marked with chalk with the number '99'.
The Patent mark carries the number 573.

This is the Chantal Meteor as I purchased it in January 2010.
Everything works except that the volume is very quiet and the micro switch on the pickup arm is faulty.
However, there is much to do!

The dome is smashed and the cabinet is very dirty and some of the laminate is peeling. I obtained a brand new original dome from the seller when I bought the Chantal.
