While doing the setup of the player mechanism, the selection solenoids stopped working. I tracked the problem down to the twin relays that are mounted to the underside of the top deck. There are two capacitors that supply the charge to fire the relays and my best guess was that one of these had failed. I replaced both of them with new 'foil' caps from RS Components. Normal service was immediately resumed.

Got the amplifier back. Most of the capacitors have been replaced as well as most of the valves. The sound however is not great, but the amp guy was working without a schematic. I now have one and will be returning to him to check all the values and tune the sound to match my expectations.

I've fitted the chrome rim to the new dome. Scary! I decided not to use rivets as the last thing I wanted to do was to crack the dome, so used stainless machine screws. This has worked perfectly and looks fine to my eyes.
